Jazan / Jizan Economic City generates 420 TPD across seven material streams. Two streams are unique to Jazan in the national program: ACWA Power IGCC gasification ash (80 TPD — richer in recoverable metals than conventional combustion ash, first-of-kind processing nationally) and agricultural/food processing waste (50 TPD — Saudi Arabia's only humid subtropical agricultural zone). Phase Initial: 2 modules, 200 TPD, 70,000 tpy.

Surge Capacity Design Basis

Baseline TPD 420
Surge TPD (P90) 546
Surge factor 1.3×
Primary surge driver IGCC + Agri Peak

ACWA Power IGCC turnarounds create industrial production surges. Seasonal fishing/food processing waste peaks (Jazan is a major Red Sea fishing hub). Agricultural harvest season creates organic waste peaks. WARN-05 — verify with MWAN seasonal data.

ACWA Power IGCC Ash — First-of-Kind in Saudi Arabia

80 TPD — Richer in Recoverable Metals than Conventional Combustion Ash

ACWA Power's Jazan Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) plant is the first operational IGCC in Saudi Arabia. IGCC gasification ash differs materially from conventional combustion ash — the gasification process concentrates metals and minerals at higher recoverable concentrations than combustion.

Products from IGCC ash: Vanadium V₂O₅ (primary), Nickel (co-concentrated), Iron (RC1), trace REE. The IGCC ash composition requires specific engineering analysis for recovery configuration — this is not a standard petcoke ash configuration.

Current disposition: IGCC ash is a current disposal cost for ACWA Power. No incumbent processor in Saudi Arabia handles IGCC gasification ash for metals recovery. ACM provides the first disposal pathway with value extraction.

Agricultural Waste — Unique to Jazan

50 TPD — Saudi Arabia's Only Subtropical Agricultural Zone

Jazan Province is Saudi Arabia's only humid subtropical climate zone — capable of supporting tropical and subtropical agricultural production (mangoes, bananas, papayas, vegetables, fisheries). Agricultural and food processing waste is approximately 50 TPD. This stream has no circular processing pathway in any other KSA city.

ACM output: Agricultural organic waste → Biochar (soil amendment, agricultural carbon sequestration). This output addresses Ma'aden's Jazan phosphate operations (soil amendment supply chain) and the Saudi agricultural sector. Biochar from IGCC-adjacent processing creates a unique circular agriculture economy at Jazan.

Petcoke Ash — Aramco Jizan Refinery V₂O₅

Saudi Aramco's Jizan refinery complex processes Arabian heavy crude — same high-vanadium feedstock as Ras Tanura. Petcoke ash 50 TPD provides V₂O₅ recovery opportunity. WARN-08 — engineering confirmation required for Jizan petcoke configuration before any V₂O₅ volumes are committed.
